PROJECT OVERVIEW
34 by Continental Gold is a luxury holiday apartment development located in the heart of York on the historic Coney Street. The project transformed the building into eight high-end holiday apartments designed to offer a premium guest experience whilst celebrating the history and character of the location. Each apartment was individually themed to create a unique identity, ensuring no two stays felt the same.
DEN Interiors were appointed to design the interiors for the development, creating a collection of boutique accommodation spaces that felt luxurious, immersive and distinct from conventional holiday lets. The brief focused on delivering high quality accommodation with strong design identity whilst maintaining practicality, comfort and functionality for guests.
The result is a destination hospitality experience combining luxury interiors with storytelling inspired by York’s rich history.
DESIGN CONCEPT
The design concept was inspired by the heritage of Coney Street and the building’s former occupants, creating themed interiors that celebrated the history of York whilst delivering contemporary luxury accommodation. Historic references were woven throughout the scheme, giving each apartment its own narrative and personality.
Each apartment was designed individually with carefully curated finishes, statement furniture, feature wall coverings and bespoke detailing to create memorable guest experiences. Rich materials, dramatic lighting and layered textures were introduced throughout to elevate the apartments beyond traditional serviced accommodation.
Functionality remained central to the design, with integrated kitchen facilities, food preparation areas and apartment layouts designed to provide the comfort and practicality of home within a boutique hospitality setting. Some apartments include full kitchens and dividing spaces to create a more residential experience.
The overall concept creates a collection of luxury stays that feel authentic to York whilst offering guests a unique and immersive experience.
